She might have snapped out her slump when she hit series of 616 and 546 in the Waukesha Women's Bowling Association Tournament at Jay's Lanes over the weekend. Her performance has moved her into first place in the singles division of Division I. "I like to bowl that good, but it doesn't happen that often," said Podjaski. "I just try to go in to the tournaments and not embarrass myself." Podjaski bowls in Fracaro's Classic League on Wednesdays and the Red Carpet All-Stars League on Thursdays. "I've been in a slump since the holidays," she said.

"Right now I'm just trying to focus on getting the ball down the lane." Knutsons form successful team MUKWONAGO Karon Knutson has seen her average go in the opposite direction since she bought a new bowling ball and new shoes. Karon, her new shoes, her bowling ball and her sister-in-law Linda Knutson all teamed up to bowl a 1,370 series and grab first place in Division 2 doubles of the Waukesha Women's Bowling Association Tournament at Jay's Lanes. The Knutsons each had planned on bowling with other partners for the tournament, but at the last minute Linda's partner backed out. It was the first time the two had bowled together, and their results surprised them. Karon Knutson, who also is second in all-events, bowls in Fracaro's Sunday Twilite Couples League and has a 141 average, up from 0129 last season.

Will the scores hold up through this weekend, the final weekend of competition? "I hope we can do it," Karon Knutson said. "I'm holding my breath." Spring City team in front WAUKESHA The Spring City Dog Catcher team from Spring City Lanes has the lead in the team handicap event of the Waukesha Men's Bowling Association's annual tournament. Spring City had a 3,431 total compared to 3,323 for secondplace All Right from Fracaro's Lanes. The Spring City Lanes team from Red Carpet has the team scratch event lead. Hine bowls first 700-plus series WAUKESHA Bowler Tom Hine went over the 700 mark for the first time in his career as he shot a 717 series in Fracaro's Knights of Columbus League on Monday.
