Away from transfers, Dominik Szoboszlai is heading on holiday after Hungary did not qualify for the knockouts as one of the four best third-placed teams. Young goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros is also out after the Czech Republic finished bottom of Group F following a 2-1 loss to Turkey.

Real Madrid star 'advised' on Liverpool move

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Real Madrid star Rodrygo has been 'advised' to make a move to either Manchester City or Liverpool after the La Liga club signed Kylian Mbappe this summer.

It's believed the Brazilian international is concerned over his future playing time after the French striker's arrival and Carlo Ancelotti's attempt to allay his fears have done little to calm the 23-year-old who could see a move to the Premier League as an enticing option.

His 17 goals and nine assists last season would no doubt translate into a very real threat in English football, and the star could be Arne Slot's first marquee signing of the window.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia provides Liverpool stance

Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has revealed he will decide his future after Euro 2024 amid interest from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

Kvaratskhelia scored and shone for Georgia in their famous 2-0 victory over Portugal on Wednesday. The 23-year-old netted the opener, driving into the box before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner. The win means Georgia have progressed to the round of 16 and face Spain next up on Sunday.

During the game against Portugal, ITV commentator Clive Tyldesley claimed that the Reds are interested in a move for Kvaratskhelia this summer. This is despite new Napoli boss Antonio Conte insisting Kvaratskhelia will stay at the club, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis set to offer him a new contract. His current deal expires in 2027, having joined Napoli two years ago from Dinamo Batumi.

Here's what Kvaratskhelia had to say...

Liverpool star set for exit

Anderson Arroyo looks set to leave Liverpool permanently this summer after six and a half years at Anfield, having never kicked a ball for the Reds.

The Colombian has reportedly agreed personal terms for a three-year contract with Spanish outfit Burgos CF, after spending the second half of last season on loan with the Segunda side.

Making 16 appearances, scoring one goal, the switch would be Arroyo’s eighth different loan move away from Liverpool after joining the club from Colombian side Fortaleza CEIF in February 2018.

Liverpool player predicted to snub contract offer

Liverpool will be back in Premier League action in under two months as Arne Slot readies himself for the challenge of replacing Jurgen Klopp.

Unlike other Premier League clubs, who have been quick to move in the transfer market, the Reds are yet to complete any deals of their own. There remains plenty of time for transfers to be completed, however, which supporters will be eagerly awaiting.

Liverpool's business last summer can be viewed as a success for the most part, despite Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch both failing to sustain prolonged periods of form over the campaign. Alexis Mac Allister was the club's standout signing and maintained strong performance levels throughout the season.

As talk continues regarding who could be on their way in or out of Anfield this summer, we have rounded up some of the latest reports regarding such links...

Liverpool receive clear £59m transfer warning

Arne Slot has been warned against making any Liverpool transfer decisions based on performances at Euro 2024. The knockout stages of the summer tournament in Germany are set to get underway this Saturday with a number of players impressing in the group phase.

For Germany, both Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala have been among the goals which has seen links to Liverpool strengthen. Elsewhere, Spain and Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams has placed himself in the thoughts of several Premier League clubs, including the Reds, with some scintillating displays out wide.

Also in Spain's Euros group was Italy, with Liverpool reportedly taking a keen interest in two players from their squad. Federico Chiesa has been a long-term target of Liverpool, though his international teammate Riccardo Calafiori is very much a new name.

Liverpool set to secure Chelsea star

Liverpool are set to welcome Chelsea youth academy talent Ryan McAidoo this summer ahead of head coach Arne Slot's first season in charge.

It's believed that the Blues were trying hard in order to keep the talent but the England youth international has reportedly made his mind up about a switch to Anfield, also declining a move to Chelsea's north London rivals Arsenal in the process.

Chelsea make huge decision on Liverpool transfer target

Chelsea have contacted Leicester to express interest in signing Dewsbury-Hall, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Last summer, Liverpool showed a strong interest in the 25-year-old as they completed a mini-midfield rebuild. With three additions made in that department, it appears unlikel Arne Slot will respond to the Blues' decision as he continues to formalise his own transfer plans.

Liverpool transfer plan for Matip replacement

Liverpool are considering making a defender transfer following the exit of Joel Matip, as per the Athletic, via @LFCTransferRoom.

The 32-year-old departed the club as a free agent in the summer with Liverpool's plan to replace him - or not - now clear. The Reds have been linked to Riccardo Calafiori and Matthijs de Ligt in recent weeks with Arne Slot likely to formalise any plans following the conclusion of Euro 2024.

What Liverpool's Premier League rivals are doing

While Liverpool and Arne Slot are thus far enduring a quiet summer transfer window, several other Premier League clubs have been very active...

Chelsea have already announced two new signings with a third expected to be confirmed soon that will see Marc Guiu join from Barcelona. A £17million deal for Boca Juniors wonderkid Aaron Anselmino is also in the works with Lewis Kellyman to join from Aston Villa.

Manchester United are continuing to work on a deal for Jarrad Branthwaite though Everton's significant asking price has seen them look at alternatives with Leny Yoro and Riccardo Calafiori, both of interest to Liverpool, being linked.

Elsewhere, with the PSR deadline looming, Everton, Aston Villa and now Nottingham Forest have eased concerns. As Kellyman is heading to Stamford Bridge, Lewis Dobbin has joined the club from Everton with Tim Iroegbunam going the other way.

Nottingham Forest meanwhile, have agreed the exit of Moussa Niakhate with the defender to join Lyon in a £20million deal.

Liverpool told to avoid wonderkid transfer

Arne Slot has been advised to not bring Arda Guler to Liverpool this summer amid transfer links.

The Real Madrid wonderkid has starred for Turkiye at Euro 2024 with links to Anfield emerging as such, however Slot has been told not to sign him.

As part of bet365’s Euro 2024 coverage, Emmanuel Petit said: "I think that Liverpool need other players before they bring in Arda Guler.

"I don't know what the new manager wants to do, but you have to be careful when signing players on the back of them shining at a major tournament after they haven’t yet made an impact at club level.

"You get all the expectation and the fascination but the competition is different to domestic football, so some players sometimes shine and all of a sudden when they come back to the club they become average. So you have to be very careful about that."

Bajcetic boost

Stefan Bajcetic has not been named in the Spain squad for the Olympics and will thus have a full pre-season at Liverpool.

Bajcetic, 19, debuted for the country's under-21s in September but has not featured since because of the calf muscle that made him miss over 40 matches for Liverpool last season. The teenager returned in April and featured as a substitute in the penultimate home game against Tottenham Hotspur.

That was only his third appearance of the season, but after returning to fitness the hope is that Bajcetic can enjoy a bounce-back year under Arne Slot. An uninterrupted pre-season with the first team, which will initially be depleted because of this summer's international tournaments, offers the midfielder a perfect opportunity to impress.

Ederson transfer latest amid Atalanta stance

Liverpool's chances of signing Ederson from Atalanta in this summer's transfer window appear slim, as per a new update.

The Reds have been linked to the Brazil international in recent weeks following his impressive season in Italy but the latest updates suggest he will stay.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool appreciate and have scouted Ederson but it will be difficult to sign him as Atalanta want to keep the player amid interest from Europe.

Their plan is also to not sell two top players in the same position with Teun Koopmeiners also linked to an exit and of interest to Liverpool.

Van Dijk defended

Outspoken former Nottingham Forest player Pierre van Hooijdonk has defended Virgil van Dijk in the face of fresh criticism from Marco van Basten.

Van Basten called out the Netherlands captain after their 3-2 loss to Austria earlier this week.

He’s got to lead and he’s the one we’re going to hold accountable in the end. He has to organise things and he is responsible. He is the great leader of the team and you have to organise these kinds of things better.

The Euro 88 winner also acknowledged that it was not his first time criticizing Van Dijk. Van Hooijdonk has now hit back on the Liverpool skipper's behalf (H/T Sport Witness).

I think this is way too easy. Marco has been targeting Virgil for five years… This team has no real leader, just like the Dutch team in 1988. If you put a band around someone’s arm, it does not mean that you are a leader just like Ronald Koeman and Ruud Gullit in ’88. I think that’s too easy.

Man United urged to sign Alexander-Arnold

Dwight Yorke has called on Manchester United to do everything they can to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Yorke made the plea to Best Online Poker Sites:

I'm not sure Trent Alexander-Arnold would want to leave Liverpool as it's his boyhood club, but Liverpool will be under transition now Jurgen Klopp has left. Maybe, Alexander-Arnold can evolve as a midfielder under Slot.

This could be another opportunity where, if Liverpool don't perform under Slot and Alexander-Arnold becomes unhappy, Man United should do everything they can to sign him.

I was the first person to suggest that Man United should have signed Leroy Sane when he started to become frustrated at Man City when he was on the bench frequently, now he's one of the best players in Germany. Alexander-Arnold may have a similar opportunity which Man United should pounce on.

Obviously, there is history between the clubs and Alexander-Arnold will know that as an Englishman, but it can be an opportunity to look out for.

What Kimmich has said about Bayern future

Joshua Kimmich addressed his Bayern Munich future earlier this year in an interview with the Spanish outlet AS. The comments came before the German giants played Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals.

I want to talk to Bayern. And when I do that, I won't go out and talk to the press about it. I'm only focused on the two games against Real Madrid."

Asked about the links to Barcelona, Kimmich added:

At the moment I'm not thinking about this. As I already said, I will speak to Bayern first. But of course, Barcelona and Real Madrid are amazing clubs with an amazing history.

Kimmich also acknowledged that who the club's new head coach is would be important. They have since appointed Vincent Kompany.

I know that when you sign a contract you don't sign it with the coach. You sign it with the club. For me, the most important thing is the club, not just the coach. But of course, it's also important to know what the coach thinks about you and the team. Other people in the club worry about choosing the coach.

Kimmich set for Bayern talks

Joshua Kimmich wants to hold talks with Bayern Munich after the European Championship, BILD reports.

Both parties are reportedly leaning towards not renewing the Germany international's contract before it expires next summer. A transfer fee between £25m and £34m is mentioned as potentially enough to sign the player during the current transfer window.

However, Kimmich's huge wages of around £320k could pose a problem for Liverpool. The Reds are one of only five clubs it is claimed Kimmich will consider signing for, with Arsenal, Barcelona, Manchester City and Real Madrid being the others.

Bakayoko talks 'held'

Arsenal have reportedly had discussions with Liverpool-linked winger Johan Bakayoko's representatives, CaughtOffside claims.

Liverpool apparently like the player but have yet to hold talks over the Belgium international. Their interest will reportedly only formalise depending on whether Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah stay at the club this summer.

Chelsea are also credited with an interest in the player, who is said to be open to leaving PSV Eindhoven. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also being linked with the winger.

Liverpool to miss out on £21m goalkeeper

Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia has been linked with Liverpool this summer but Arsenal are now reportedly signing the shot-stopper.

That development comes after the goalkeeper played down transfer talk. "For that part (transfers), don't worry, I'm very good here (at Espanyol) and above all, I would ask you (the fans) to be calm and encourage us."

Napoli's Kvaratskhelia transfer stance

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has acknowledged that the club will offer Khvicha Kvaratskhelia a new contract amid transfer interest in the Georgia international. The film producer made the admission yesterday during Antonio Conte's introductory press conference.

With Kvara, there are no problems because we have a contract: we will make him a proposal for a contractual change and in any case, I don't see any problems for him. Then there can also be those who make contact with the players without having been authorized by the club.

The latter remark is seemingly about Paris Saint-Germain, who it is widely reported in Italy have offered Kvaratskhelia a bumper contract this summer.

Kvaratskhelia addresses future

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is delaying any decision on his future until after the European Championship.

The comments come after new Napoli head coach Antonio Conte stated that the player will stay in Naples this summer. Asked about the remarks after Georgia's 2-0 win over Portugal in Gelsenkirchen, Kvaratskhelia said:

Calafiori could tempt Liverpool to revisit transfer plan that has already worked

Riccardo Calafiori has been one of the stars of Euro 2024 so far.

His own goal against Spain might have consigned Italy to a defeat in their second group game, but he has shone defensively throughout the group-stages and earned plenty of acclaim as a result. Meanwhile, it was his eye-catching assist for Mattia Zaccagni that earned a last-minute draw against Croatia, carrying the ball out of defence, playing a smart one-two before evading a challenge and picking out the right pass.

The defender seemingly has every desired attribute going you want in a centre-back. He’s in the air and on the ball when carrying it out of defence, he’s quick, he has an exquisite passing range too, and he would certainly not look out of place in a Liverpool backline as a result.

Liverpool transfer dilemma nears end as Slot could get two quick solutions

Such was the sudden rise of Stefan Bajcetic at Liverpool last year that the teenager was still being listed as an Academy defender on the club's official website while starring as a senior midfielder.

Bajcetic was noted for his versatility upon his arrival as a 16-year-old in late 2020 from Celta Vigo but nearly four years into his time on Merseyside, the prospect of him lining up at centre-back at Anfield now appears remote.

Instead, there will be a conversation with new head coach Arne Slot about just what type of role he can perform in the centre of the park going forward, with Bajcetic capable of operating as both a No.6 and a No.8, in modern parlance.
